How do you approach your fuel system on the yachts?

The boats use multiple tanks to create what is "home waters level" of fuel load vs. what we would call "transit" or long-range loads – that is to say, large fuel loads for extended runs and crossings. For trouble free operation, these tanks are set up with integrated sumps – natural low spots to allow stripping the bottoms of water and sediment. The ability to let gravity do most the "dirty" work and to remove the sediments without passing all through the filter media is a major benefit. The standard boats are also set up with dual filter media that is the common size of the most common fuel polishing systems. At Pacific Expedition Yachts we use a manifold transfer system that allows an owner to move fuel around all tanks as part of load management. This transfer system can, with the turn of a valve, push the transfer through the filter media as well, re-polishing without additional filter arrangements or more complicated piping.
