Q: Can you tell me more about your yacht building location and why you choose it to build these power catamarans? A: Pacific Expedition Yachts is located on the waterfront harbor in Toledo, Oregon. We are seven miles inland up the Yaquina River with direct access to the Pacific Ocean. We are at the upriver end of the navigable portion of the river above the salt water exchange. We are also protected from the winter storms and with overall higher temperatures that found in the more northerly locations. There is a strong heritage of yacht and commercial boat building in the area for the fishing and Coast Guard fleets. That yacht and boat building industry is still vibrant in the area today.
